Assessment for Learning is at the heart of effective learning and teaching. This approach to learning and evaluation, engages the individual student in a collaborative process that encourages independent and motivated learners. Assessment for Learning involves two key components in the process The rubrics, accessed through the following links, provide the student with a set of criteria against which, the written language, oral language and collaborative presentation is to be judged. The rubrics promote a process of self evaluation which enables the student to gain an understanding of ”How” one is learning as opposed to “What” one is learning. This form of collaborative assessment by both teacher and student provides feedback that supports, motivates and enables the pupil to improve.
