Spanish is Off to a Flying Start at MCS
In September 2004, in response to popular community demand, Spanish was introduced as a third, second language option, in Moate Community School. Twenty-three students chose Spanish as their language elective and embraced the course with an enthusiasm and excitement that any teacher would be proud of. Two years later the success and popularity of this program is evidenced in the dramatic increase in enrolment, which has doubled in this short time.
Moate Community School takes great pride in this Spanish language initiative. It is the goal of the program to provide students with the pleasures of language learning and the access that the study of Spanish provides today, access not only to careers in our global economy but also to the cultural treasures of the Spanish Speaking world.
