Gaelic Football
Moate Community School offer Gaelic football at every level from U-14 to U-18. It has many top class coaches who have represented the Westmeath senior football team. These coaches include Dessie Dolan, Gary Flanagan, Peter Tormey and David Duffy. Our recent development of a full sized all weather G.A.A  pitch fully floodlight will be the envy of every school in Leinster and will compliment are two other playing pitches.At Senior level we have become a force to be reckoned with and have secured semi final places three times in the last five years. At under 16 level coached by James Hatton and Fintan Walsh we have become regular winners of the North Leinster championship. We are very grateful to our the surrounding clubs for their continued help and support in providing highly skilled and talented players.

Dessie Dolan
One all star,1 Leinster Senior medal, 1 All Ireland U-21,2  Leinster U-21’s,Sigerson Cup medal,10  international rules caps,4 Railway cups,5 county championships,1 All Ireland Freshers medal,3 National League titles. Des has a keen interest in all sports and coordinates all activities in Moate Commnutiy School.

Peter Tormey
Represents Westmeath at Senior inter county. He has huge experience in many sports but Gaelic football is his real area of expertise were he assists all teams in the school.He once again helped Bunbrosna to another county title earlier this year.

First Aid/ B.Sci Physical Education

Fintan Walsh
Fintan is an accomplished hurler for his club winning numerous county titles. He has a superb record in the school  coaching five teams to north Leinster finals at Under 14 and Under 16.He was also a joint manager to the 2010 Under 16 team who went all the way and one a Leinster title.All in all Fintan remains a very dedicated and successful manger at Moate Community school.

David Duffy
Another member of the Westmeath panel who works in Moate Community School.Davids sporting highlight to date was winning a national league title with Westmeath in 2008.David is a previous captain of Westmeath minors in 2004 and is a member of the Shandonagh club.

Qualified in CPR training/Basic first Aid
