Athletics/Cross Country
Aoife Halligan and Blaithin Sheoige are in charge of Athletics and cross country in Moate Community School. It continues to attract many students who train extremely hard and show great dedication to their sport. Competitions start in October and run until May when the Cross country season goes into full swing.Competitions take place in Galway in St.Marys College, Salthill and Belvedere House.
Aoife Halligan
Aoife has a keen interest in Athletics built up from her own school days were she participated and won Offaly county titles.
Qualifications:
AED/Defib training/First Aid/CPR/Assistant coaching course in Athletics
Blaithin Seoighe
Blaithin has an impressive track and field record having represented her Connaught on numerous occasions in this discipline. Today she uses that experience to mentor the many sportspeople interested in Athletics in our school. Moate Community school has a long tradition in Athletics which is very much alive today with Blaithins aid.
Qualifications:
Qualified in CPR training/Basic first Aid
Assistant Coaching course
Swim rescue(Qualified Life gaurd)
