The German Department provides a comprehensive German curriculum at Senior Cycle.

German Personnel:

The Department has a staff of two full-time teachers who possess extensive expertise and experience. Teachers are involved in in-career development and teaching workshops .The department has a designated subject co-ordinator. Regular meetings take place exploring ways of promoting and developing the German subject within the school.

German at Senior Level

The course is designed to encompass aural, oral and written skills in the language.

 Topics are covered to ensure a broad range of vocabulary .

 Sentence structure and grammatical syntax are taught.

 A study of the German culture.

 Role plays and picture sequences.

 General questions are prepared for use at the oral examination.

German Facilities

 Both rooms have internet access , video and TV. White boards and over-head projectors are used along with data-projectors. The school’s computer room is used for some classes.

Participation in European Languages Day.

Mock orals.
